EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT KIT

The Early Childhood Development (ECD) Kit (WH item: 9935060) is a package of 37 items containing early-learning, play and psycho-social materials that address the developmental progress of children from birth to 6 years of age. The Kit can serve a group of approximately 50 children at one time. It aims to provide a range of activities to encourage the development and social interaction of children (playing, story-telling, numeracy, etc.), with items also provided for Caregivers to set up the area.

The ECD Kit Handbook for Caregivers constitutes the Technical Bulletin for this kit. It was developed to provide guidance on using the ECD Kit safely and effectively, how to set up the environment, how to organize children into groups, etc. In addition, the Handbook suggests ideas on how to make similar ECD materials with locally available items, or with no items at all.
