Technical Specifications:
In vitro, visually read, rapid diagnostic test kit for the detection of
antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Viruses type 1 and/or type 2
(HIV-1/HIV-2) in human serum/plasma.
This test is based on particle-agglutination assay using gelatin
particles coated with purified inactivated HIV-1 and HIV-2 antigens
separately. Both antigens are prepared by disrupting with detergent and
purifying the viruses from concentrated culture fluid of HIV-1 and HIV-2
producing cell lines.
These coated gelatin particles are agglutinated in the presence of HIV-1
and/or HIV-2 antibodies in human serum/plasma.
